Modifying the Pilot

The original P-10 model came equipped with a boiler tube type pilot that was typical of an earlier era on the Espee.  By the fifties the 2467 had a solid pressed metal type pilot.  To fix this detail the pilot was disassembled and updated with a cast pressed metal type pilot from Precision Scale.

Cylinder Detailing

Here are a couple of pictures that compare the blower valves and bleed valve detail on the top of the steam engine.  The model picture is a little out of sequence as I only have a shot of this after the model was painted; more will follow on the painting later…

While the model isn’t a perfect match for the prototype it will make a quite respectable P-8 class Pacific when it is finished.
